About the Owners….

Marty Tucker is the second generation owner/operator of Specialty Glass.
With his years of experience in the labor, management and customer service capacities of the family business, he is a well established resource in specialty contracting.

Marty started with his father, Tom, during his teen years as a shop laborer. It was soon a proven fact that customer service was a strong suit of Marty’s and, eventually, this area of expertise  was managed principality by Marty. Efficiency, attention to detail and operational management skills gained through his military experience enhanced Marty’s capabilities as a general contractor and business manager.

After completing his service with the Navy,  Marty enlisted as a full time student and obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Construction Technology.  With his training and education, he soon became a journeyman glazier with the Local 740 and completed contracts for such companies as Benson Industries and Pittsburgh Plate Glass.

How it all came to be…

In 1988 the company was reorganized when Marty and wife, Sallie, assumed management of Specialty Glass  to continue and enhance the business full-service contracting operations.  Marty and Sallie oversee and administer all aspects of financial management, customer service, sub-contracting, personnel, physical facilities management and safety issues.  Specialty Contracting Glass & Door was been passed down from Marty’s dad Tommie Tucker in 1985.
